Jepara Antique Furniture

Sponsor: Jepara is a small town on the north coast of Java, north-east of Semarang. The town is known for antique reproduction furniture internationally. It makes antique reproduction, garden and other furniture in any design the customer wants.

In 1971 Jepara was one of the poorest districts in Central Java. But now, Jepara's economy has boomed. The fall in the value of the rupiah against the U.S. dollar and other currencies in 1998 has probably led to an increase in income for the furniture makers.

Furniture Production Procedure

Phase Basic
Sandpapering every raw materials from craftsman as wood fiber wise. It use Roll machine to do it quickly.

Phase Colorizing
Combining color to be Perupa's typical color: classic.

Phase Sanding ML
Sanding ML is an element to closing wood pore. After it dry, sandpapering is conducted again.
Then, Second colorizing is used to make the color to be solid & looked to be classic.

Phase Top Coat
Melamine NC is a material to be used to layering color. So, the color will be more look live, smooth, and done without dryer.

Phase Drying

This is the final process to produce furniture. The oven/dryer is used to drying the furniture.
